Named for the modified leaf that shelters a new bud, Bract wraps its upholstery in a curved lattice of steam-bent oak that reads as both structure and ornament. The slats take the load that a conventional frame would hide inside the fabric, so the wood is visible everywhere the body isn’t touching — a chair that’s honest about how it holds itself up.

Inside the wrap, a low, deep seat in brushed velvet is built for sinking into rather than perching on. The oak is left in a natural oil finish that will deepen slightly with age and light exposure, the one part of the piece designed to visibly change over its lifetime.
